Low Carb Diet Food for Breakfast:

 

 

1.  Three eggs(whites only) with a dash of lemon pepper, single slice of 100% whole wheat toast(Optional Smart Balance spread on toast)

 

2.  1/2 cup of plain oatmeal.  You may make sweeter with a tablespoon of sugar and cinnamon to liking.

 

3.  ½ cup low-fat cottage cheese with fresh fruit.

 

4.  1 container low-fat yogurt. Top with low-sugar cereal or granola

 

5.  Two to three tablespoons of all-natural peanut butter(certainly no hydrogenated oils) and veggie sticks.

 

6.  Three to four hard boiled eggs(discard 3 of the yolks) and conservatively salt.

 

 

7.   4 egg white omelet w/ bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and deli turkey. side of salsa and/or ketchup. Toasted whole wheat toast, pita or tortilla.

 

 

Lunch Low Carb Diet Food:

 

1.  Low-fat deli meat sandwich w/ 100% whole wheat bread. (Top with any veggies you enjoy and use mustard instead of high fat mayo)

 

2.  ½ cup or scoop of tuna or chicken salad made with reduced fat mayo on wheat toast or a pita topped with sprouts and cucumbers. For added flavor sprinkle some lemon pepper on top.

 

3.  If ordering a salad while eating out avoid any fried topping like wonton’s, tortilla chips or onions and order all protein to be grilled or baked, in no way fried.  Reduced fat or calorie dressing on the side.

 

4.  Baked or grilled chicken or fish of your picking with a side of steamed vegetable and a garden salad.

 

 

5.  Bowl of tomato based vegetable soup with or without meat. Whole grain crackers or toast.

 

**Tomato based soups are low in calories and high in nutrients and are very filling.  Terrific Choice!!

 

6.  It’s ok once in a while to order your favorite hamburger, turkey burger or chicken breast sandwich, but have it wrapped in lettuce instead of on a bun.  Several places either have this on their menu or will be happy to accommodate you.

 

7.  Mixed greens salad topped with baked salmon, green beans, mushrooms, sprouts and cranberries. Drizzle olive oil and lemon juice as a yummy and healthy dressing.

Low Carb Diet Food for Dinner:

 

1.A: Your choice of a lean protein: Chicken(White Meat) Tuna, Salmon, White Fish, Lean Turkey, Pork and grill, bake or pan fry with olive oil

 

B: Select a vegetable: You can’t go wrong here with something green and you enjoy.  Steam, stir fry or grill the vegetable and flavor with olive oil, lemon juice and pepper

 

C: Design a salad: Take your preferred type of lettuce and add any amount of colorful vegetables you like. Salads are a great healthy choice, low in calories and help digestion. Use 100% olive oil and vinegar dressing or another dressing that DO NOT contain hydrogenated oils.

 

2.  Stir fry chicken and mixed veggies. Use low sodium teriyaki or soy sauce whenever possible. Pair with a ¼ cup of whole grain brown rice.

 

3.  Less than 10% fat ground beef or turkey chili.  Find a excellent recipe and use fresh reduced sodium products.   Some package chili’s are good, but be watchful of the high sodium levels used as preservatives.

 

4.  Open faced tuna salad and a bowl of vegetable soup.  This comfort food does more than just fill your tummy.

 

5.Homemade meatloaf made with 9% fat ground beef or turkey. Eat with a side salad or vegetable.

 

With a many different decisions for every meal you can mix and match any of these low carb diet foods to always keep you excited about your next meal and keeping the carb count low and the pounds off.
