The Changes Required To Increase Your Weight Loss

Well I’ve been going over the last 45 days in my head and am just amazed at the changes in my mind and my body that have happened in such a short amount of time. When I think that it took me five and a half months to lose 30 some odd pounds and in just 45 days I have lost over 20 pounds. Not only that but one full pants size and have started to add new notches in my belt. Some of the other amazing changes I have noticed, even though I had lost over 30 pounds my cell phone still stuck me in my side and I had to turn it sideways to sit down or it would pinch my side real bad. And in just two and a half weeks it no long stuck me in the side any longer and just one week after there was a gap between me side and the cell phone. The first Bikram Yoga class I couldn’t sit on the floor with my legs straight out in front of me and sit straight up. When I tried to stretch forward to reach my toes i could bare get half way down my shins. Today I can reach my toes and with my fingertips. I have been showing the same kind of increases at the interval training work outs at Pure Form PFT. The first day when we did the plank intervals to start the class I couldn’t stay up on my elbows and toes for the first 30 second interval and I had to do the rest of them like a girl with my knees on the ground. Now 45 days later i can make it though nearly the whole set of plank intervals, even though it took a little pushing from Carl THE trainer. As I said in week three I couldn’t do a push up.. Well Wednesday’s interval training had push ups on the TRX Suspension Trainer Professional as well as push ups on the floor interval training series. And I could do them in every interval set.. Both Carl at Pure Form PFT and Helena at Bikram Yoga both said your body is capable of things you never thought you could do If you just let your mind get out of the way. Now I see the truth. Not only has my endurance increased but my stamina has increased also.

After the pep talk we received from Carl THE trainer on Tuesday morning, I have been doing a lot of thinking. I haven’t lost any interest in the changes I have committed to for the rest of my life or in this competition. After doing the talk at the mens ministry breakfast a few weeks ago, I have realized that the spiritual gift of self control which was a spiritual gift that I had possessed previously, and had used in many areas of my life. I had quit smoking cold turkey, quit abusing drugs cold turkey, and yet when it came to eating and exercising it seemed that the spiritual gift of self control was completely lost. I might have shown some self control for a few days, or weeks, maybe even several months. The old habits of over eating and not exercising would just come back.. All the way to over 300 pounds, wow how could I continue to do that? but no more my faith is strong, my commitment is strong and my determination is stronger. This time I will make it back to 200 pounds and stay there with the help of my faith, my friends, and my family. Hopefully this blog will help me and can help you too. It is a tool where we can be held accountable for maintaining our self control. For those of you in the competition that have started to slack off some, remember we were chosen to be here, not only by Carl and Helena, but by God himself. Remembering the spiritual gift of self control will elp us get through this.. We can be there for each other.
