Naturally Eating For Health And Low Calories

Wednesday, May 5th, 2010

Eating green is becoming more and more popular as Americans become more health conscious. We eat junk food and make bad food choices all the time. Heavy foods like pizza make us feel sluggish, and healthy foods make us feel better and more energetic. Also, people are trying to be more environmentally minded these days.

Unfortunately not everyone has the money to eat all organically, and it can get expensive. Foods need to pass FDA standards though, so if you can’t eat organic, it’s not that big of a deal. But if you can, try and at least get organic fruits and vegetables.

Looking up recipes on the internet is a fun way to get into natural cooking and eating. There are lots of health conscious websites these days to find recipes from. For those who have the latest kindle, you can just look up a cookbook on it and you’ll have recipes with you right there in the kitchen.

Wild caught salmon, which means the salmon has not been unnaturally farm raised, is the best type of salmon to buy. Cage free eggs, in which the chickens have not been cooped up in cages and are allowed to run free, are the best type of eggs to buy. Try to get low fat cheeses and dairy, as these can be high in fat.

Planting your own garden is a good way to get free organic vegetables. You can grow some in window pots or start your own from seed. Tomatoes and basil are a good and easy seed to start with. Herbs are also an easy start when first gardening.

If it’s natural skin benefits you’re looking for, vegetables can help with that too. Cucumbers have long been known to have skin benefits, and sugar scrubs, which can be made at home with minimal ingredients, are said to be as good as getting a glycolic peel. Try cucumbers for puffiness around the eyes.

If you’re going to eat naturally you should also use natural products for any health issues. Red wine has an anti-cancer agent called resveratrol, and the Agaricus brazil mushroom has been said to have anti-cancer fighting agents as well. Pinot Noir is supposed to have the most resveratrol.

Eating more salads and greens, whole grains, and fish will help you to eat low calorie and feel good about your food choices. Growing your own produce is probably the best way for you to eat organically on a budget. But if you can’t do that, visit local farmers markets for fresh organic produce. You won’t pay full price like in the grocery store, and you’ll get the same benefits.

How TFA’s Are Making You Fat

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

How others are always talking about losing weight fast is very important. This article will provide you with the info that you need to make this happen. Most people eat poison every day without even thinking about it. On a daily basis, even small amounts of the substance are linked to heart disease, and research shows that increases insulin resistance and risk of diabetes, effects cholesterol levels, and increases visceral fat.

This poison is a food additive called trans fatty acids (TFAs).Almost all TFAs are man-made except some which are found in dairy products.

New food labeling laws brought the problem of TFAs to public attention since 2006.Some states have banned the use of TFAs in restaurants.

TFAs are nothing new but recent studies have shown increased CHD or myocardial infarction deaths associated with these substances.

While some groups who eat a lot of fried food and pastries get up to 10% of their energy from TFAs, countries where fast food is something new also have high rates, while people the United States get about 3% of their energy from TFAs. The government says that the most TFA intake should be 1% which is about 2 g, but others say that there is no safe level of TFAs.

With the knowledge of the dangers of trans fats so prevalent we have to ask why.TFAs are popular because they extend the life of a food product for transportation and storage time.

There’s still a lot of ignorance about TFAs and there is very little action being taken to correct the problem.

We can tell that the percentage of Americans aware of TFA is increasing from surveys that show that 73% are aware of the risks of heart disease..University Of Colorado professor Robert Eckel says that the awareness of the TFA problem hasn’t changed behavior very much. The ADA to the survey that showed that 79% of Americans were unable to name three foods that contain trans fats.

Here are some good guidelines and some foods to avoid.

1. Look at the ingredients that are in your food.If your food has TFA unit if it contains hydrogenated oils such as cottonseed, palm, and soybean

2. Be aware of labeling loophole’s.Even if food has hydrogenated oils ingredients, some companies will put TFA free on their label.Companies will change the serving size make it so small that they have less than half a gram of trans fats. The government will allow them to say zero trans fat is serving has less than half a gram.

3. Eat foods that have no label. If you eat natural foods like fruits, vegetables, unprocessed grains, eggs, and lean meats you don’t have to worry about the risks of TFA. These are also some ways on how to lose weight fast.

4. Don’t eat foods that are associated with TFAs. Examples of this are the keys, shortening, or French fries, even some salad dressings.

Anything that helps address the TFA problem by legislation or lifestyle changes will be good for overall health. I don’t like calling foods forbidden or referring to them as poisonous, but foods with trans fats are a definite exception. You must keep food with TFAs to a minimum you cannot eliminate them altogether from your diet. Be aware, that even if TFAs are eliminated, they may be replaced with something that worse.

Low Calorie And Natural Eating

Tuesday, December 15th, 2009

Americans are eating too much junk food these days, but they’re also becoming more health conscious. Eating green is more popular and starting to catch on. Some foods are just not good for us, and we feel better after eating healthy foods instead.

If you can, it’s best to eat all organic foods, but not many people can afford all that. It’s true that the FDA has placed stricter regulations on foods, so if you can’t eat organic, then don’t worry. But buy organic any time you have a chance to.

A fun way to get into natural eating is by looking up recipes online. There are tons of health and wellness websites with recipes you can choose from. If you have the latest kindle, you can even look up cookbooks that way so you can have it right in the kitchen with you.

Using low fat cheeses and dairy, organic vegetables, free range meats, and wild caught salmon (meaning the salmon hasn’t been raised on a farm cooped up with other fish) are all a part of a natural eating regimen. Cage free eggs are also a good idea.

Pinot noir has resveratrol, which is an anti-aging agent. It also helps fight cancer. So do all types of red wine, in fact, but pinot noir has the most percentage in it. The Agaricus brazil mushroom is supposed to have anti-cancer abilities as well.

Burn Fat Fast With Digestive Enzymes

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009

Digestive enzymes are crucial for your body to heal and repair itself down to a cellular level.

Your body won’t be able to use your nutrients that you get from eating if you do not have any enzymes.

It is good for us to understand exactly what these enzymes do, especially because it helps with fast fat burning and to digest our foods.

Proper digestion of our foods gives our body the ability to burn fat fast.

{Our bodies generate digestive enzymes to break down the food we consume so that the nutrients within the food can be absorbed. We are designed to produce digestive enzymes ourselves.} Here’s the problem: the type of foods we are eating now are void of nutrition and we cannot make enough enzymes to breakdown the food.

Think about this also: your body uses energy to make these enzymes. This means that it is taking away energy to replace, rebuild and heal damaged cells and tissues.

If we keep eating processed, unhealthy foods, then our body will start to have health problems such as food allergies, digestive issues, getting sick more frequently and stress. As we get older, our body slows production of these enzymes. So as you can see, we need to find a better source of digestive enzymes.

Which type of food is responsible for giving you the much needed enzymes that heal your body, decrease your age and burn fat fast?

Tired of guessing? It’s raw food.

Digestive enzymes occur naturally in raw fruits and veggies. These speed up your diegestion, allowing you to absorb nutrients which will greatly help you to lose weight.

It is important to note though that these enzymes are only present and effective when food is in it’s raw state.

The food enzymes are destroyed beyond a state where they are of any help to the body if the food is cooked, even at moderate temperatures. So get munching on an apple, or toss up a salad of your liking.

If you want extra boosts of enzymes, mix in sprouted seeds, grains and legumes.  The action of sprouting activates tremendous amounts of enzymes that your body will love.

The best part about eating raw foods is that it has an anti-aging effect on the body. It’s so effective in fact that companies try to incorporate them into their cosmetic “anti-aging” products.

So go ahead, feel AND look good from the inside-out.

If you want to give your body a fast fat burning edge, make sure to add raw food to your diet.

Burn Fat Fast: All You Need to Know About Fiber & Fast Fat Loss

Saturday, October 31st, 2009

Are you struggling to burn fat fast? As we age, it gets harder and harder to keep those extra pounds off. This is because our diet is unhealthy.

Uncooked veggies and fruits give you the most fiber. Eating lots of fiber has a ton of benefits: gets your digestion flowing, boosts your immune system and helps you to lose weight fast.

Recommended intake of fiber is 25g per day, which should come from at least 5 different servings of fruits and vegetables as well as 6 servings of grain products – half of which should be whole grain.

There are two types of fiber found in raw foods: Soluble and Insoluble Fiber. The real power for your health is in understand how these 2 types of fiber can work for you. Both soluble and insoluble fiber can not be digested or absorbed into the bloodstream, but is still fundamental to the digestive process.  These are considered fast fat burning foods and should be eaten daily. Here’s how:

Soluble Fiber
Soluble fiber binds fats together and slows down the blood sugar response. When your blood sugar is regulated properly, you don’t have blood sugar spikes.

People with diabetes should consider soluble fiber as an essential element of their diabetes management or regulation plan.

Soluble fiber is also known for it’s cholesterol lowering ability. Which in turn decreases your chances of cardiovascular disease.

Foods that have soluble fiber include: oats, dried beans, nuts, flax seed, apples, carrots and broccoli.

Insoluble Fiber
The best thing about insoluble fiber is that it pushes stuff through your digestive tract and cleans it.  It also helps control or balance the pH (acidity) level in our intestines by removing toxic waste through the colon in less time.

Maintaining an optimal level of pH within the intestines helps prevent microbes from producing cancerous substances which in turn prevents colon cancer.

Include insoluble fiber in your diet by adding vegetables such as Green Beans, Spinach, Kale, Fruit and Root Vegetable Skins, and Whole Wheat products.

To burn fat fast, it is extremely important to eat 40 grams of both types of fiber a day.
